I’m happy to say that hubby and I are officially home from our holidays. Not that I’m happy our holidays are over, but I do like being back into a normal routine. The first several days back stunk because we were both crazy sick, but that’s fading now too.
I’ll be doing a proper post about our Disney vacation later, but for now, just a brief update. It was a little less magical this time, at no fault of Walt Disney World. The problem, was that it was actually crazy rainy. And not your typical rain for an hour and go away Florida rain, oh no. It rained and it rained and it rained. Then the sun would come out, and suffocate us all with an increased level of humidity, before the rain would come once again.
It’s not even that I mind the rain so much, but when there are kids with you, it changes the game a bit. They’re not quite as okay with walking around soaking wet all day as we are, and that’s okay. But I think it really destroyed a bit of the magic for them. There’s something to be said about being able to bounce around outdoors in Disney World, enjoying the sights and smells — something that is not quite as powerful when it’s sheet-raining in the middle of a thunderstorm.
Despite all that, it was a good time still, and it was definitely a new experience having some kids along (we didn’t kidnap them, I swear, my best friend, who blogs at One Red Wall, also joined us, and brought her kids).
Anyways, I’ll post better stories and more photos soon, but for now, this is just to let you all know I’m still alive, and I am still kicking!
